| Employment law, like many areas of modern practice, requires specialist knowledge and experience. Fenners Chambers has established a dedicated Employment Group to advise and assist solicitors and other professionals in this field.
The Employment Group's work includes not only litigation but also specialist advisory work and drafting contracts of employment and consultancy contracts. Members of the Group represent employers and employees before civil courts and tribunals at first instance and on appeal. The Group advises on all aspects of employment law including: Contracts of employment Restrictive trading covenants Wrongful dismissal Unfair dismissal Disciplinary hearings Discrimination (sex, race, age and disability) Maternity rights Transfer of undertakings European law Trade union and labour relations Redundancy Health & safety The drafting of contracts
The fees of Members of the Group are flexible and are fixed according to the demands of a case. The Group acts on the principle that clients ought to be represented before a tribunal and is committed to accept cases through the Free Representation Unit. Public Access Several members of the Employment Group undertake, in certain circumstances, Public Access instructions. This can be a fast and cost-effective direct link without the need to instruct other legal professionals. Please refer to our Public Access page. Seminars The Group also organises seminars on current employment issues, which attract continuing education credits for solicitors and legal executives. For further information please contact Sharon Bannerman on 01223 368761.
